On February 23rd, 2007, cats (and their humans) from all over the United States and Canada will be celebrating the third annual Leave Your Cat At Home Day™.
Kids and dogs have their own days and what do they do with it -- they go to work. Four cats in Minnesota couldn’t believe it when they heard. They each declared that they would never, under any circumstances, go to work nor do any kind of work no matter where it was. So since all cats abhor work, the Cat Collaborators (as they call themselves) organized a special day for cats entitled Leave Your Cat At Home Day™, which is celebrated annually on the last Friday in February. The Cat Collaborators share a home in Bloomington, MN, with their human, Grace Jaeger, who explains that while her cats have planned this special day, she is helping to spread the word so cats everywhere can participate in the celebration. Leave Your Cat At Home Day™, she continues, is a day dedicated to revering cats – a time to admire the way cats have arranged the world. Everyone has to go to work – grown-ups, kids and even those other unspeakable creatures that sit on command and beg for treats – while cats get to relax in luxury at home and be adored. A visit to the website at www.leaveyourcatathome.com will find the Cat Collaborators telling about the celebration. Sadie relates how the celebration got started. Pearl will give details on a photo contest to show how cats celebrated Leave Your Cat At Home Day™. The contest winners from last year’s celebration can be seen there too. Clyde shares the secrets of why cats don’t work and what they do instead. And Sam demonstrates some reasons for hiring a professional pet sitter when you need to be gone overnight. Professional pet sitters from all over the United States and Canada are joining in this celebration and will be honoring the cats in their lives on this special day. All cats’ humans are urged to celebrate with their cats by lavishing them with gifts and lots of extra pampering. Cats’ humans are encouraged to show the adoration they have for their cats by wearing and displaying personalized cat products. Most of all, cats and their humans are urged to be silly, have fun and enjoy Leave Your Cat At Home Day™! Details about the celebration, adoration ideas and contest information are available at the website, www.LeaveYourCatAtHome.com. Information may be also be obtained by contacting
